Patagonia is a large region in South America which stretches across Chile and Argentina. The variety of different landscapes found here makes for some stunning natural scenery and some excellent outdoor adventure opportunities. Depending on which part of Patagonia you visit, deserts, grasslands and glaciers can all be found in abundance, resulting in some once-in-a-lifetime views and experiences.
As you may expect, there are plenty of chances to hike through some of the mountainous terrain on our fantastic Patagonia tours. Challenge yourself to reach the top of Fitzroy and Cerro Torre, trek along the famous ‘W’ route and visit the Los Glaciares National Park to see glaciers carving in front of your very eyes. Another beautiful spot for hiking enthusiasts is that on which the Towers of Paine lie, within the Torres del Paine National Park. These three peaks loom impressively amongst a beautiful backdrop and their actual heights are still disputed to this day.
Away from the mountains, you can also explore the breathtaking lakes in the region, as well as the city of El Calafate. Not only is this the gateway to some of the national parks of Patagonia, it’s also an interesting destination in its own right. You may well find yourself embarking a cruise from El Calafate, which will take you on a tour of awe-inspiring glaciers like Perito Moreno.
