Although it experienced an unstable past, the current government in Uganda has managed to turn the country into an excellent tourist destination. People generally come to this part of the world for two reasons: to see wildlife in its beautiful natural habitat and to visit the source of the river Nile.
Many of our Uganda tours allow you to fulfil both of these ambitions. You can enjoy walking safaris that offer the chance of close encounters with zebra, buffalo and the rare Roan antelope, whilst a visit to Jinja will take you close to the start of the longest river in the world. As well as the source itself, this is a great place for extreme water sports, so why not throw yourself into a spot of white water rafting?
Another interesting stop on your visit to Uganda will be at the equator. Cameras at the ready, you can pose for the classic shot in which you straddle both hemispheres at once. Uganda often features on tours that visit other African countries in the surrounding area. One of these is Rwanda, home of the mountain gorillas.
