7
Day 7
Johannesburg, Kasane, Embark River Safari
Fly to Kasane in Botswana, then travel by coach and boat into Namibia where you will be transferred to your river ship. Scenes of beauty reveal themselves as you cruise the Chobe River at sunset. Hippos emerge from the waters as the air cools, while elephants and cape buffalo congregate at the riverbanks for a drink at dusk. You may even spot Nile crocodiles lurking in the shallow waters. Conclude the day with a Welcome Dinner on board.
8
Day 8
Chobe National Park, Chobe River, Freedom of Choice
A river safari aboard the Zambezi Queen is a relaxed affair, allowing you to enjoy leisurely mornings on board. Relish the riverside scenery as you take breakfast on the deck and prepare for the day’s activities. Later, watch for wildlife close to the riverbanks as you cruise along the Chobe River, which is famous for its huge concentrations of elephants. After lunch, a journey to a local Namibian village offers an unrivalled insight into the local culture. Alternatively, try your hand at fishing for bream and tigerfish. Relax on board after dinner this evening.
9
Day 9
Disembark River Safari, Livingstone, Victoria Falls
Disembark your ship after breakfast and cross the border into Botswana then onto Zambia. Arrive at your hotel, set right on the banks of the Zambezi River. From here, it’s but a short walk across the hotel’s gardens to Victoria Falls, where the magnitude of this natural wonder reveals itself. Watch clouds of mist rise skyward as the waters of the Zambezi roar over the brink and into the seemingly bottomless chasm below.
10
Day 10
Livingstone, Freedom of Choice
Today, perhaps trace the steps of Dr Livingstone on Chief Mukuni’s Village Cultural Tour then visit the Maramba Market. Or enjoy an elephant safari along the Zambezi River. Alternatively, marvel at Victoria Falls from above on a helicopter flight. Afterwards, head back to your hotel and enjoy time at leisure.
11
Day 11
Livingstone, Johannesburg
Fly to Johannesburg where you will spend the evening before your journey to East Africa.
12
Day 12

13
Day 13
Arusha, Tarangire National Park
Set out by 4WD to your camp, with incredible views over Tarangire National Park. Spend time relaxing before your first game drive.
14
Day 14
Tarangire National Park
The quiet plains of Tarangire National Park are home to wildebeest, zebra, buffalo and impala, but are most famous for the annual elephant migration. Watch for these gentle creatures along with a host of other animals on morning and afternoon game drives today. If you are lucky, you may see the unusual dwarf mongoose and gerenuk, although sightings are very rare.
15
Day 15
Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater
Meet the children of a small school in Tanzania before continuing to your lodge, set close to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. Here, you have the chance to take an optional game drive through Lake Manyara National Park. Watch the sun dip behind the crater walls before dinner this evening.
16
Day 16
Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy a full-day game drive along the floor of Ngorongoro Crater, including a picnic lunch. The crater’s high walls serve as a natural enclosure for an abundance of wildlife, including birds and wildebeest that gather around waterholes in incredible numbers.
17
Day 17
Olduvai Gorge, Serengeti National Park
Visit one of the world’s most important prehistoric sites, Olduvai Gorge, for a private tour and lecture. Watch for wildlife as you travel through World Heritage-listed Serengeti National Park later.
18
Day 18
Serengeti National Park
Wake to the sounds of the African bush and head out on an early morning game drive to glimpse the animals at their most active. You may find that the landscapes of the Serengeti are perhaps as alluring as the wildlife that calls the park home. Endless dry grasslands collide with a brilliant blue sky, while the iconic profiles of lone acacia trees stand beneath the blazing sun. On your afternoon game drive, the chance to spot Africa’s famous Big Five is high, thanks to the park’s density of both predators and prey. Back at your lodge this evening, swap stories of your sightings and adventures during dinner with your fellow travellers.
19
Day 19
Serengeti National Park, Masai Mara
Bid farewell to the Serengeti as you board a light aircraft for the flight to the border of Tanzania. After landing and crossing the border into Kenya, take a short flight to the Masai Mara. There’s some time to relax and explore your camp before heading off-road on your first game drive in the Masai Mara.

Lunch will be set for you at camp before you visit a local village where you will experience the culture and lifestyle of the Maasai people. Wonder awaits on an evening game drive as the animals become more active. Raise a glass and celebrate your experience with sundowner drinks.
21
